Meet
Bob
Porter

We
are happy to introduce Robert (Bob) Porter from our new
Cincinnati
office. Bob was hired in June of 2007 to take over the Midwest claims and comes
to
Phoenix
with over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. A graduate of West Virginia
Bob holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Wildlife Management and Fisheries.
Bob
started his professional life as a Park Ranger for the State of Ohio Department
of Natural Resources. His experience in law enforcement combined with his education
in
accident investigation and FBI courses led him into claims after he applied to
be an Underwriter for Cincinnati Insurance in 1986. Bob has been flying since 1978.
He holds a private pilot license with an instrument rating and has logged over 3,000
hours in total flight time. Bob flies our company 2002 Cessna 182, N472WC.
Bob
enjoys being able to work in the Aviation Industry, meet other pilots, and having
the ability to be involved in the investigative side of insurance. In his spare
time Bob enjoys flying, biking, hiking and water sports. He has been married to
his wife Kim since 1985; they have two grown sons, Craig and Brian, and 1 grand-
daughter. Bob and Kim also have a daughter, Katie, who is a freshman at
Western Kentucky
University
. Bob is excited to be a new member of the
Phoenix
team and looks forward to working with and getting to know all of his new colleagues.

Phoenix
Supports Visionwalk
|
|
|
Phoenix
employees
walked for
the cure in
Atlanta
's
Piedmont
Park
in November in support of the Foundation Fighting Blindness. The urgent mission
of the FFB is to find the causes, the treatments, prevention and cures for retinitis
pigmentosa (RP), macular degeneration, Usher syndrome and the entire spectrum of
retinal degenerative diseases.
Due
to the generosity of our
Phoenix
family and business partners, we
were able to raise over $2,500 for this important
cause. It wasn't exactly a walk in the park, wait, it was a walk in the park and
on a beautiful fall day sharing the
Phoenix
spirit of camaraderie and can-do attitude.

New Resource on
Phoenix
Web Site
|
|
|
We
now have a new resource on our web site that will assist you with your licensing
questions. There is regulatory information as well as links to each state's insurance
department or commissioner. If you hold an insurance license in the following states, take note of the recent changes regarding licensing:
Maine
- Non-resident producers may now renew their Non-Resident licenses through Sircon.com
Tennessee
- Both Resident and Non- Resident Licenses are available electronically through
Sircon.com for producers and agencies.
North
Carolina
- Effective January 2008
North
Carolina
will begin using the Line of Authority of Casualty for North Appointments, Terminations,
and Non-Resident Licensing electronic transactions. The Line of Authority Liability
will no longer be accepted.
Wyoming-
With
each new license,
Wyoming
is reminding the licensee that every producer transacting insurance in
Wyoming
is required to have an appointment with the represented insurer. Both firms and
individuals must have an appointment to represent an insurer. The appointment must
be filed with the Department within 15 days from the date the agency contract is
executed or the first insurance application is submitted. The agency must designate
a licensed producer to be responsible for the agency's compliance with
Wyoming
law. Visit the department's website for more information.
